Stargazer Pinot Noir 2025
$75.00“Bright ruby crimson in colour, the nose immediately shows some juniper berry and green cardamom spice which opens to reveal a lively combination of red and black fruits. Red liquorice and rosehip tea dominate, but there is some chinotto and fenugreek there also. The palate is refined, compact and coiled, lithe tannins coming in early […]

Castle Rock Estate Porongurup Riesling 2024
$29.00Always from the first press juice, as always this is terrific. 2024 is a very warm vintage of low yields and deep concentration, but somehow Castle Rock manage a stunning mineral, energetic and pure riesling, regardless of conditions. White flowers, citrus blossom/fruit/zest, with oyster shell, thyme and pink lady apple. Juicy and easy drinking, it’s […]

Stargazer Riesling 2026
$40.00“Very pale yellow in colour with green hints, the nose is floral and lifted, showing waxy white flowers; gardenias and jasmine. In the background pink grapefruit and kaffir lime spiciness. The acid provides structure, drive and backbone to the palate, while the tangy exit is balanced with a judicious touch of residual sugar.” Samantha Connew […]

Frederick Stevenson Montepulciano 2024
$35.00Utterly captivating, with all the heightened sensuality of Montepulciano. Layers of blackberry, plum, blackcurrant and mulberry unfold into notes of licorice, dried herbs and mint. Curved and supple, with fine, bow-like tannins giving shape and line. Plush yet controlled, the focused acidity drives the wine long through the finish. Abundant, succulent, and seriously compelling. Domenica Chardonnay 2025
$60.00Spice, cashew nut, custard and nougat aromas, refreshingly clean and shows no reductive traces. The wine is light, crisp and fresh in the mouth, with a stony minerality, very lightly played oak and emphasises the more-ishness and appetising properties of chardonnay. Refreshing acidity cleanses the finish making it a more Chablis-like iteration of the grape. […]

Holyman Pinot Noir 2024
$60.00Despite the light colour, pouring the wine releases an immense bouquet. I know we’re in for a treat! Expressive and vibrant with plum, cherry, raspberry, blackberry and five spice. Deep, succulent and complex and so much presence and grip. Tannins are very fine, that seem to tighten towards the close. Scaffolding acidity, with the length […]

By Farr Shiraz 2024
$110.00This is always so, so good. It’s complex which I love, as so often this grape is one dimensional. There is more than a note of ripe fruit, there is graphite, black olives, it feels silky yet there is a note of ocean spray, a faint yet lovely salinity, then follows the spice. There is […]

$25.00Seductive and bright – Meyer lemon, tangelo and ripe nectarine lead. The palate is generous yet finely tuned, with citrus at its core, layered with melon and tropical fruit. Trutta Pinot Gris 2025
$30.00Fermented on skins, lasting about 10 days. So the wine is skinsy, but only to a point, with full malolactic fermentation lending a certain richness and flesh, tensioned by minerals, savoury spice, texture and salinity. Very complex fruit profile; grapefruit, guava, and blood orange zest mingle together. Delicious. Norris at Waters Wine Co

Evenfall Chardonnay 2023
$45.00A thoroughly complete Australian chardonnay, Evenfall’s white has a foot in just about all the stylistic camps and the total sum of its parts is awesome. Has all the drive, tang and mineral intensity of Chablis and the darker fruits, texture and flesh of Meursault. Lovely aromatics of gardenia, pastry, cashew, preserved lime, yellow peach […]

Rob Hall Chardonnay 2025
$30.00A lively green gold. An attractive bouquet of white peach, pear and a little ginger spice. While the light- to medium-bodied palate is still quite tightly wound, this will begin to open up over the next six months and will still be looking good three to five years from now. 93 Points – Philip Rich, […]

Bondar Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2025
$40.00Intense aromatics of grapefruit, fresh and preserved lime, lemon, cashew, cream, wood, citrus blossom and spice. Rich and medium bodied, a wine of energy angles and cut. There’s a little more mid palate flesh than in previous iterations, and I’m not sure if it marks a shift in style or is a reflection of the […]

Pressing Matters R9 Riesling 2022
$42.00I love the ‘R’ designations on the Pressing Matters rieslings. From R0 for bone-dry to R139 for sweet, they are an indication of the RS in the wine. The R9, in theory, should teeter on that fulcrum between dry and off-dry, but that crystalline Tasmanian acidity tempers any sweetness and it appears dry. And totally […]

Bannockburn Winery Block Chardonnay 2025
$85.00Whole-bunch pressed, fermented and matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (40% new); 75% mlf. An intense, rich bouquet of yellow pear, citrus peel, spice and oyster shell. It’s ripe and mouth-filling, to be sure, but also nicely delineated, with an even thread of acidity giving the wine structure and length through to its long finale. […]

Tillie J Langhorne Creek Grenache 2024
$35.00Grenache has to be one of the most diverse grapes planted in Australia, reflected by the plethora of styles being crafted. Tillie J’s is delightful. Described to us as a Beaujolais style, I thought it somewhere between a Brouilly and Southern Rhone red. Compote of black, bramble and red fruits, with cut flowers, licorice, five […]

Holyman Chardonnay 2024
$60.00Only a tiny amount of this wine is made each year, and very little ever leaves Tasmania. It’s a pure, confident expression of site – built to reward patience in the cellar. Aromatically, it opens with white peach, and sweet citrus notes. The palate is taut and zingy, carrying through long on the finish. Oak […]

Corymbia Rocket’s Vineyard Tempranillo Malbec 2023
$40.00“Love this drink as it’s savoury, spicy, intriguing, delicious and more. A perfect counterplay between acidity and tannins, fruit and savoury inputs, the reductive winemaking creating part of the latter. Dark cherries and kirsch, raspberries all dusted with brown spice, nori, slatey with a distinct ferrous note. The mid-weighted palate is juicy and tangy yet […]

Patrick Sullivan Woori Yallock Chardonnay 2024
$75.00“Fruit off Lusatia Park vineyard, thank you very much. As is the Patrick Sullivan way, all the single-site chardonnays are made the same – whole-bunch pressed to tank, fermented in French oak barriques (30% new) aged 11 months, plus mlf with strategic lees stirring (not much). This is the most aromatic of the four wines […]
