Spice, cashew nut, custard and nougat aromas, refreshingly clean and shows no reductive traces. The wine is light, crisp and fresh in the mouth, with a stony minerality, very lightly played oak and emphasises the more-ishness and appetising properties of chardonnay. Refreshing acidity cleanses the finish making it a more Chablis-like iteration of the grape. 92 points, Huon Hooke – The Real Review
The 2025 season was temperate, with a fairly cool and dry growing season. Warm, dry weather in late January and into early February allowed the grapes to fully ripen in excellent condition. Yields were high and the quality was exceptional.
The 2025 Domenica Estate Chardonnay was handpicked, over the course of 10 days, by block and clone in mid February. The fruit was crushed, pressed and chilled in stainless steel overnight. The juice fermented in a mixture of 600 litre demi-muids and 228 litre barriques. As usual, the new oak component is around 20%.
This year has produced a wine of purity and true representation of site. Stone fruit, white flowers and ginger aromatics lead to a mineral driven entry. The light toast, larger format oak brings depth and texture in the mid-palate, allowing the fruit to expand and carry through the full length of the wine. Winemaker’s Notes

After 13 years honing his craft at his uncle Rick Kinzbrunner’s iconic Giaconda, Peter Graham set out on his own path, founding Domenica. Perched at 460 metres above sea level on a granite ridge that falls away to the south-west of Beechworth, the site is as striking as the wines it produces.
Domenica’s wines speak vividly of place. There’s a gripping mineral thread that frames the vitality of mature vines, with each variety chosen to articulate the character of the site. The approach in the winery is traditional and intuitive—taste over numbers, always. Indigenous yeasts drive fermentation, while pressings, solids and lees are embraced as essential elements in building texture and complexity. The wines are raised carefully in oak barriques and bottled unfiltered.
Authentic, expressive, and deeply considered – these are the real deal.
