Despite the light colour, pouring the wine releases an immense bouquet. I know we’re in for a treat! Expressive and vibrant with plum, cherry, raspberry, blackberry and five spice. Deep, succulent and complex and so much presence and grip. Tannins are very fine, that seem to tighten towards the close. Scaffolding acidity, with the length and balance suggesting a very long life. Refined, serious and fun. Norris at Waters Wine Co.
Deep ruby with characters of dark cherry, dried cranberry, wild strawberry and raspberry pip along with spice, wisps of struck match, wildflowers, tamari, cold tea, game meats and subtle crushed herbs. I like the energy here; there’s a distinct tension to its travel on the palate, with sleek fruit, crushed riverstone tannins and a wicked briny acid line providing detail and cadence. Such great drinking. 95 points – Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

All the vines are at the northern end of the appellation, which dictates the finesse. The vineyards include: En Motrot, situated between the church and Château de Gevrey-Chambertin, close to Clos Saint-Jacques; Au Vellé, […]
