$60.00From vines planted in the 1950’s, a single vineyard. 18% whole bunches, the rest whole berries, wild fermented and basket pressed to French oak, 15% new for 18 months. It’s defiantly Barossa, and a totally different expression to the Marananga, as it’s supposed to be. More red fruited, with cherries, stewed plum, blackberry, blueberry and […]

Gentle Folk Pinot Noir 2024
$45.00“While not straying from its usual form, this release is slightly more savoury and earthy – an honest blend of fruit from all the estate vineyards, plus a little addition from Uraidla. Bramble and moss, orange rind and dried fig – this is fruit broken open to the air of a cold autumnal dusk. It’s […]

Patrick Sullivan Woori Yallock Chardonnay 2024
$75.00“Fruit off Lusatia Park vineyard, thank you very much. As is the Patrick Sullivan way, all the single-site chardonnays are made the same – whole-bunch pressed to tank, fermented in French oak barriques (30% new) aged 11 months, plus mlf with strategic lees stirring (not much). This is the most aromatic of the four wines […]

Meadowbank Blanc de Blancs 2018
$85.00I don’t normally like fizzes aged for long periods on lees but this, disgorged after five years, seems to have hit a sweet spot. Still very primary and super intense with pastry notes, butter, apple, almond cream, lavender, honey, grapefruit, lemon, lime, white peach and cinnamon. Fantastic intensity with great vibrancy, the acidity so lively […]

Jean-Louis Chavy Puligny Montrachet Folatieres 1er Cru 2022
$350.00From 0.51 ha of vines in 2 separate plots planted 1993 and 1965, one in the steepest stoniest part close to Blagny which contributes excellent acidity and structure, the other part is from lower down where the soil is richer and this part gives greater richness and depth to the wine. This shows wonderful intensity […]

Crystallum Mabalel Pinot Noir 2024
$85.00Peter-Allan Finlayson avoids using any whole clusters on Mabalel, as the Elandskloof stems tend to be greener and less lignified. Very much a cool climate style, it has impressive poise, focus and elegance, sappy redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, perfumed 20% new wood, appealing zip and minerality and the structure to evolve gracefully in bottle. Collemattoni Rosso do Montalcino 2020
$45.00A defining traditional Brunello producer, Collemattoni’s wines offer a magical tension of lightness and power, pure fruit and earthy/meaty/herbal savouriness.
