From the ’96-planted Harriet’s Vineyard in Healesville; 35% whole bunches and matured (50%) in 1-year-old puncheons; the remainder in seasoned hogsheads. Bright crimson. Nicely perfumed with aromas of strawberries, redcurrants, musk and a little crushed violet. The mid-weight palate is nicely balanced with both good acidity and gently grippy tannins that will need another six months or so to become supple and smooth. 93 points – Halliday Wine Companion
