Tim Smith Barossa Grenache 2022
$38.00It’s all about McLaren Vale Grenache at the moment, but the Barossa Valley should not be overlooked and Tim Smith’s iteration is one of the best, if not the best value from the entire valley. Incredible aromatics with a compote of English summer red fruits, blueberry, some blackcurrant. sweet spices and an almost Nebbiolo sensibility […]

Mercer Vermentino 2025
$28.00Grown on the Roxburgh vineyard in the Upper Hunter Valley, no other varietal represents a sustainable growing future like Vermentino. Naturally high acid makes a bright, textural delight with tangy citrus flavour and acidity. Plenty of crunch and energy, we hope this wine is still around in the warmer months. Winemaker’s Notes

Dirty Three The Dirty Rizza Riesling 2024
$38.00Off-dry riesling at it’s very best, and the first that I’ve had from Gippsland. A ‘feinherb’ in style, so only about 10 g/l of sugar, so the alcohol is low also, at 10.8%. Gorgeous aromatics of spring jasmine, quince, flint, preserved lime, lemon, green apple and gentle spice. Pure and refreshing, energetic, ravishing yet precise, […]

Pressing Matters R69 Riesling 2022
$42.00Pale green-yellow hue; a lifted perfume of honey, lime and lemon blossoms and the palate is rich and yet super-fine, the sweetness balancing out what is surely quite high acidity. The end result is gorgeous flavour and fruit/sugar/acid balance. The persistent honey note suggests the grapes were fully ripe. The finish is clean and harmonious. […]

Vanguardist Mourvedre 2022

Like the Grenache this is very aromatic, but with black, briary and red fruits, flecked with potpourri, black olive and garrigue herbs. Wild Duck Creek Sparkling Duck Shiraz NV
$80.00Exceptionally rare. A wine that I think embodies this estate like no other, showcasing their ability to make elegant, savoury and very complex wines, not just dark and massive monsters. Dark in colour, but less so than their still shiraz’s, and there is a greater emphasis on tertiary notes. The fruit profile is very complex, […]

Pierro Chardonnay 2024
$110.00“From one of Margaret River’s great chardonnay producers, this is yet another brilliant example of the style that has made Pierro so admired. You wouldn’t guess it came from a warm year—it’s delicate and fine, with a pristine brightness. The nose shows light grapefruit, citrus, a touch of butterscotch, and a subtle mealy note in […]

Domaine A Petit A Cabernets 2014 Museum Release
$70.00St Emillion inspired, but for me, reminiscent of the haunting, autumnal wines of Pessac Leognan. Beautifully complex aromas of blackcurrant, cranberry, mulberry, blackberry, violets, garrigue herbs, tobacco leaf, mint and cocoa. Pure ripe fruit, supple initially, before the sensual squeeze of chewy, tobacco laced tannins. Very complex interplay of savoury and fruit notes with squid […]

Adelina Shiraz 2022
$65.00Col McBryde told me that he liked to drink Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo whilst at home and their influence is clear. Expressive with kirsch, lavender, pink peppercorns, cassis, blackberry, cocoa, mint, fresh compost and a ferrous quality not always present in Clare shiraz. Medium bodied and mouthwatering, the fruit picked perfectly ripe. Very pure, deep […]

Wild Duck Creek Duck Muck 2021
$505.00A very rare wine of utmost intensity and exceptional quality, rewarding careful cellaring. Duck Muck was first made by a stroke of luck. By Farr Viognier 2025
$110.00According to Nick Farr, 2025 was a challenging vintage, but the warm conditions and the speed of ripening was perfect for viognier. The picking window for viognier is very narrow indeed, as once ripe, acidity falls off very quickly, and even a day late can jeopardise the entire harvest. This is the year of the […]
