Pressing Matters R69 Riesling 2022

$42.00

Pale green-yellow hue; a lifted perfume of honey, lime and lemon blossoms and the palate is rich and yet super-fine, the sweetness balancing out what is surely quite high acidity. The end result is gorgeous flavour and fruit/sugar/acid balance. The persistent honey note suggests the grapes were fully ripe. The finish is clean and harmonious. A smashing ‘kabinett’ style wine that will richly reward some cellaring. 96 Points – Huon Hooke
Weighing in at 9.2% alcohol, this is what the Germans would refer to as a ‘breakfast wine’, a term that I love. The RS69 here denotes 69g RS in the wine, so think medium sweet. It’s peachy with lemon drop, grapefruit zest, white flowers, crushed stone and a suggestion of spearmint and fennel further back. It’s delicious. That steely acidity draws it all back into line, finishing unctuous yet focused and definitely moreish. 97 Points, Dave Brookes – Halliday Wine Companion
