Bondar Fiano 2025
$30.00Mainly from Ben Lacey’s Branson Road vineyard in Tatachilla, supplemented with fruit from the Minchella family, also in Tatachilla. Predominant steel ferment, with some older oak and amphora, then blended and raised in steel for four months. The ’24 was the best Bondar fiano I have seen, and this sits squarely beside it. Golden apple […]

La Petite Mort Qvevri Gentil 2021
$35.00Despite the floral nature of these two Alsatian varieties, they complement and contrast each other brilliantly. The white blossom aromas of the Muscat provide a base line and the rose and lychee of the Gewürz sit on top to create exotic layers of fruit, spice and flowers. But this is not a sweet wine, and […]

La Battistelle ‘Battistelle’ Soave Classico 2023
$48.00Despite being a single vineyard and not a blend like the Montesei, there are similarities. Wildly complex, with white flowers, honeysuckle, lemon zest, grapefruit, white peach, orchard fruits and mustard seed. Deep and focused with greater amplitude and a peacocks tail of flavour and texture. The palate is at once succulent and light on its […]

La Battistelle ‘Roccolo del Durlo’ Soave Classico 2023
$65.00Dense and rich with yellow peach, paw paw, apricot, cherry, kiwifruit, lime and gardenia. Old vines and low yields on a steep gradient lend themselves to contraction, structure and individuality. The palate is unctuous, and it’s hard not to imagine taking a bite out of a perfectly ripe peach, or cherry or taking a spoon […]

Sadie Family Swartland Skerpioen 2024
$205.00“Skerpioen comes from one of the Swartland’s most unusual and beautiful sites, a 90-year-old vineyard on a combination of beach sand and bright-white limestone. Marrying equal parts Palomino and Chenin Blanc, the 2024 is slightly broader than usual, but retains its defining sea breeze freshness. Jasmine and wet stone lead you into a sappy, pure, […]

Alheit Vineyards Hemelrand Vine Garden 2021
$80.00The 2021 Hemelrand Vine Garden is one of Chris Alheit’s biggest successes and encapsulates everything great about his wine. Sadie Family Swartland Kokerboom 2022
$155.00“This is a wonderful expression of his Citrusdal Mountain farm, and something of a tribute to Henk Laing, the grower who passed away last year. Huet Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Sec 2021
$90.00“This is a very fine, fragrant and floral Le Haut Lieu Sec. While delicate, the 2021 fills the mouth with a cloud of pure fruit reminiscent of violets, apple and nectarine skin. There’s a fine sinew that pulls the wine through on the finish. It can be approached in its youth but will go on […]
