David Moreau Meursault Les Pellans 2022
$200.00The 2022 Meursault Les Pellans has a refined and quite understated bouquet, hints of praline infusing the citrus fruit, and touches of beeswax. The palate is well-balanced, with touches of orchard fruit on the entry, matched by a crisp line of acidity. Superb mineralité here; this is a Village Cru punching at the weight of […]

Nicole Lamarche Vosne-Romanee 2020
$210.00“Mid pink-purple in colour, notably reduced nose. Too much to blow off. Very pretty elegant pure red fruit on the palate, with good concentration, plenty of oak and the slight firmness from the reduction. That apart, this is excellent, and very long. Scored on the basis that the reduction will depart.” 89-92 points, Jasper Morris MW, […]

David Moreau Santenay Rouge 1er Cru Beaurepaire 2021
$145.00The 2021 Santenay Beaurepaire 1er Cru has a clean and pure bouquet with precise and pure red cherry and strawberry fruit, wilted rose petal and light violet aromas percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, a little foursquare in style. A small amount of chalkiness towards the finish is detailed, though […]

Gerard Julien & Fils Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots 2020
$265.00Les Bousselots is a mid slope vineyard, with clay rich soils. As you would expect the wines are full bodied, dark coloured and with deep soft tannins. Julien’s rendition is one of the blackest from any producer of this vineyard I can remember tasting. Spiced plum, hedge fruits, black cherry and cassis, flecked with sweet […]

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Monthelie Rouge 1er Cru Champs Fulliot 2024
$230.00The new Champs Fulliot cuvée comes from four periods of plantings, between 30 and70 years ago. It displays a greater depth of colour, than the other reds in the Pierre-Yves Colin/Caroline Morey stable. Raspberries dominate the nose along with a pleasing nutty note, good body here, a feeling of correctly ripe fruit, building very well […]

Alex Moreau Chassagne Montrachet 2023
$270.00“A completely different aromatic profile presents notes of petrol, rosemary oil and white-fleshed fruit scents. There is notably better density and volume to the attractively textured medium weight flavors that display fine length on the balanced finale. This does need to develop better depth but that should reasonably occur if given a chance. Worth checking […]

Henri Germain Bourgogne Aligote 2022
$90.00“The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté comes from a single parcel in Meursault and is one-quarter aged in barrel. It has a very pure and perfumed bouquet. The well-balanced palate has a keen line of acidity and a nice sharpness here with a “pointed” finish. Very fine.” 88-90 points, Neal Martin, Vinous This rare Aligoté is drawn […]

Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derriere chez Edouard VV Rouge 2022
$305.00This has long been one of Olivier Lamy’s finest reds. It comes from just under a hectare of vines on the lower slope of Derrière chez Edouard, where the soils have more clay and have historically been planted to Pinot. In fact, the vines here are over 50 years old and give very small, ripe and intensely […]

Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2022
$280.00‘Here the wood is more apparent with a hint of menthol though neither are so much to impinge on the attractiveness of the ripe black cherry, smoked game and overtly floral-scented nose. The rich, generous and more concentrated medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the serious, youthfully austere and built-to-age finale. This […]

Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey Chambertin 2022
$240.00“A more deeply pitched nose reflects aromas of humus-inflected poached plum, cassis and violet that display hints of earth and leather. The supple and succulent yet well-detailed medium weight flavors possess a lovely mouthfeel before concluding in a youthfully austere finish where a touch of wood arises. This is an excellent Gevrey villages and worth […]

Sylvie Esmonin Bourgogne Rouge 2022
$120.00‘An exuberantly fresh nose features notes of plum, dark pinot fruit and plenty of earth character. The rich, delicious and voluminous middleweight flavors possess excellent depth and persistence for a wine at this level. Vincent Dancer Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles 2022
$590.00Les Pézerolles is a site just above Les Petits Épenots and Clos des Epeneaux and is, therefore, one of Pommard’s highest Premiers Crus. It regularly produces some of the village’s finest reds. It’s a site that gives finesse—in the context of Pommard—and is widely considered to generate a style that is as much Volnay as Pommard. Some big names work […]

Antoine Jobard Beaune 1er Cru Les Montrevenots 2021

Long and interesting, indeed absorbing wine. I love!” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report A very high, cold, rocky, late-ripening site, Montrevenots is at the top of the hill on the Pommard […]

Antoine Jobard Pommard 2021
$275.00“Also a nose of depth and guarded darker fruit. Broad, mouth-filling wine – a fine, grainless tannin as a support for everything else. Modest bitters add extra complexity to these finishing flavours. Another wine to wait for, but perhaps becoming accessible a little before the previous Beaune.” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report “The 2021 Pommard Village has […]
