“Vanguardist-farmed Rende vineyard bush vines, around 55 years old; 60% whole bunch, with about seven weeks on skins; matured in 2200L Slavonian oak. The cool vintage has its say. Refined, fragrant and elegant, but savoury and spicy, too. Distinct nebbiolo/nerello mascalese riffs, more the latter – an increasing theme at this address. Dried cranberry and cherry, freeze-dried raspberry and orange, from dehydrated peel to the bitter orange note in amaro, chinotto, Campari … five spice, clove, green cardamom, white pepper, alpine herbs, sour plum, dried mint, pressed flowers, warm terracotta. It’s finer of feel. Is it lesser for it? Nope. It’s laden with so much flavour and etched with ultra-fine but authoritative tannins and refreshing acidity. This also opens up and holds for days, suggesting a very bright future. So individual; so stunning.” – 97 Points, Halliday Wine Companion – Marcus Ellis

A blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, the exact proportions closely guarded, this delivers exactly what we’ve come to expect from this wine. The consistent elements of Redskin lolly are there, with strawberries, cream, some bittering grapefruit rind balance, a brush of garrigue herbs, all wrapped up in a slightly oily, generous texture. Vintage 2023 […]
Add to cart Producer: Jules90% Grenache with Syrah/Mourvèdre/Cinsault. Planted in the 1920’s The 2022 Côtes Du Rhône ‘Vieilles Vignes’ which is from very old vines (important with Grenache) literally across the border of the Châteauneuf du Pâpe AOP is by far the best example of this wine that I have seen, like his CNDP above. This is from a […]
Add to cart Producer: Domaine de FerrandFragrant with sweet red fruits, lavender, fresh roses, sweet earth and Middle Eastern spices. Exceptionally complex with a lovely interplay between tannin, acid, fruit and the more savoury elements of spices and earth. Sweet and savoury all in one with darker fruits on the palate and mouthwatering ones such as plum, pink grapefruit, blood orange […]
Add to cart Producer: AdelinaSumptuous grenache. Just because it’s grown on sand doesn’t mean it has to be light, or pretty, or boney, or cliche of all cliches, have sandy tannins. It is pretty and the tannins are ‘pumicey’ and grainy, but this Paralian grenache always has power, weight, density and a savouriness, harmonising the sweet fruit. The fruit […]
