The 2016 is equally stunning but far more youthful and therefore, more delicate and discrete than the 2015. It’s a vibrantly racy wine with mixed citrus and fresh-cut apple notes and a juicy, vibrant close. Both vintages are Germanic in style, less so dessert wines but more for drinking throughout the meal (the way you might consume a German Spätlese), or with cheese. The balance is superb.

Some super-ripe Shiraz was picked from Wild Duck Creek’s Original Vineyard and made into wine, which didn’t quite fill a barrel. The barrel was then topped up with Alan’s Cabernet Pressings, being […]
Add to cart Producer: Wild Duck CreekPre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]
