The perfect introduction to the stunning, boutique Tassie delights of Paul and Gilli Lipscombe:

Four Pack contains 1 bottle each of the following:

Sailor Seeks Horse Chardonnay 2024

Huon Valley chardonnay off Permian mudstone, clones 277, 95, 97 and 76 for the geeks amongst us, no malo, 20% new oak. Now here is a wine that smells distinctly like it is comfortable in its own skin and it hasn’t been mucked with. There’s an inflow of lemon curd with fruit tones of white peach, nectarine and grapefruit. Hints of crushed stone, almond meal, crème fraîche, clover blossom, cashew butter, a distant tendril of struck flint and subtle nutty oak. Finely balanced; it’s all detail and tension with light textural pithiness, fine, sapid acidity and a taut and sleek palate shape that travels long and true. 96 points – Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

Sailor Seeks Horse Pinot Noir 2024

Huon Valley-born pinot noir, 5% whole bunch, 12 months’ maturation in French oak, 10% new. This is such a pure-smelling wine. It’s all raspberry-flecked red cherry and red plum fruits with a splash of cranberry over hints of souk-like spice, nori sheets, leaf litter, mushroom broth, citrus blossom, pomegranate, crushed stone and charcuterie. Filigreed and nuanced, gorgeous fruit layered with spice, subtle crushed mountain herbs and dried citrus rinds, powdery tannins and a saline mineral line. 95+ points – Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

Sailor Seeks Horse Small Wonder Chardonnay 2024

A warmer vintage with a touch more alcohol weight in 2024 means this iteration has a riper spectrum of fruit and flowers but with that combination of slatey and creamy textures. Certified organic grapes, I10V1 clone, no malolactic, unfined.

Sailor Seeks Horse Small Wonder Pinot Noir 2024

A sense of effortless calm descends from any glass from the Sailor Seeks Horse duo. Intensely aromatic with sweet red summer fruits, tangy hedge fruits, potpourri and savoury spice. Mid weight and supple, yet there is a concentration and persistence that belies the gentle colour and cool drinkability. Firmness, just the right squeeze of skin tannins carries the flow for minutes. Such a beautiful wine.

Pinot noir from the West Tamar; matured 12 months in seasoned French oak. Mid-ruby in the glass with aromas of raspberry, red cherry and a seam of red plum. Hints of exotic spice, Chinese barbecue shop, citrus blossom and dried citrus rind, leaf litter, dried meats, crushed stone, cinnamon scroll and earth. Infection, filigreed and layered, with a chalky tannin frame and a sweep of sour cherry acidity on the finish. Beautiful, energetic drinking. 95 points – Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
