From a 12-row block of P58 clone planted in ’76. Matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (40% new); 70% mlf. A very bright green gold. Interestingly, this is the most restrained and subtle of Bannockburn’s ’25 chardonnays, and, no surprise, also the most complex. Aromas of perfectly ripened stone fruits, orange pith and lemongrass precede a tightly wound palate that’s really concentrated without being remotely heavy. A superb wine with a magnificent future. 98+ points – Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

Preserved lemon, jasmine, brioche, green mango, lime, pineapple and apricot rise from the glass. Dense and almost full-bodied for Chablis, yet beautifully crystalline, with piercing focus, serious depth and an effortless flow. The palate layers yellow peach, grapefruit, lime, marjoram, tarragon, fresh hay and apricot, with a succulent, juicy texture that makes it immediately approachable […]

Picked in the first days of April, whole-bunch pressed and allowed to ferment wild in a combination of tank and old French oak puncheons. […]

A compelling chardonnay from one of the world’s great old vineyards. The palate is pure, ethereal and expansive, with freshness, energy and concentration. There is a tightly coiled core of lemony fruit giving fabulous tension. Youthful and unevolved right now, it is poised for greatness. Sensational fruit, expertly made. 97+ points – Toni Paterson, Halliday […]

Diam. Not all Petit Chablis is created equal! Moreau’s Petit Chablis comes from a single 2.5-hectare site between Courgis and Beine, just outside Chablis on the route to Auxerre. It has a southwest orientation and lies on Kimmeridgian soils (as opposed to the higher Portlandian soils on which most Petit is grown). Half of the plot […]
