A leafy note to the fresh red fruit, medium bodied, a little leaner than the Bourgogne but fine-boned and will develop further when the oak subsides. 60% vignes basses, the other two cuvees 100%. Drink from 2026-2028. Tasted Nov 2024. (87-88) points, Jasper Morris M.W., Inside Burgundy, January 2025

A single-vineyard wine planted with MV6 and Abel clones in the late ’90s; 25% whole bunches. A bright, medium crimson. Whereas the ’24 was quite restrained, this is beautifully fragrant from the get-go, with its bouquet of red and black fruits, bramble and lifted florals. The palate is gently mouth-filling with silky tannins that make […]

Grapes from seven different vineyards spread across Shaw’s Ridge, Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and Elandskloof. Approximately 50% whole-bunch fermentation. Matured in mainly older 228-litre barrels. Enticing aromatics of red and black cherry, orange, floral perfume, fynbos, earth and white pepper. The palate shows juicy fruit, big acidity and pleasantly grippy tannins. Remarkably deft, particularly given the sizeable […]

One of the most stunningly aromatic pinots we’ve tried in a very long time. Drawing you in with star anise, sweet cherry, blackberry, cola, lavender wood, aniseed, sweet raspberry and cassis. Round and open, the aromatics quiet different to what’s found on the palate. Cured meats, mushroom, fresh compost, smoke and baking spices. Savoury tertiary […]
