The Lamarche Echézeaux comes from three lieux-dits: Les Cruots ou Vignes Blanches, Clos-Saint-Denis, and Les Champs Traversins. Altogether these parcels make up about 1.3 hectares of vines with an average age of 30 years. Nicole Lamarche works with very low yields here, which, alongside the Domaine’s delicate extraction, results in a superb expression of this terroir. Of this cuvée, Jasper Morris has written, “… [it] has almost as much to offer as the Grands Echézeaux. True, the latter has greater weight and power, but the Echézeaux… is particularly elegant in its immaculate, lacy style.” Another very fairly priced grand cru.
Fine bright crimson purple. The bouquet awaits future development. There is considerable weight of fruit starting at the front of the palate, an elegance in the fruit profile, but a feeling that there is more detail to be shown later. A leaner finish after the relatively velvety texture of the wine across the palate, as there is a touch more acidity here. 93-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

This is Mortet’s ‘super-Gevrey’, sourced from a clutch of five brilliantly placed plots that Denis Mortet chose for the quality of their terroir and plant material. All the vines are at the northern end of the appellation, which dictates the finesse. The vineyards include: En Motrot, situated between the church and Château de Gevrey-Chambertin, close to Clos Saint-Jacques; Au Vellé, […]
Add to cart Producer: Denis MortetThis is a beguiling and dreamy wine. Translucent, deep ruby/magenta with a harmonious bouquet of dark, jubey fruit, subtle florals, spicy rolling tobacco and wet stone. The nose certainly promises a lot and the palate delivers in spades. Smooth, soft, full and ripe – red and dark cherries mingle with chalky, ultra-fine tannins with enough […]

Harvested on April 6th at 12.8 Baume. 50% whole berries at the base of the ferment with 50% whole bunches placed on top for 19 days. Gently pumped over once a day while the ferment was most active (4-5 times in total). It […]
Add to cart Producer: Hughes & HughesThe 2017 Vat 6 Tyrrell’s Pinot Noir is gorgeous. It’s nervy and has that fabulous angular structure unique to Tyrrell’s. There is a complexity of flavour that I have not yet seen from this wine. Raspberry, strawberry and cranberry with hints of porcini mushroom and cured meat. There are also wonderful hints of oak spice […]
