A 0.66 plot lanted in 1949, 1964, 2012 Clay/limestone gravelly soil with red clay. 100% de-stemmed, not crushed, ambient yeast fermentation, aged in barrels (0-15% new), no fining, no filtration.
‘ The 2021 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an attractive nose with crushed strawberry and raspberry scents, becoming more floral in the glass with aeration. The palate is lively with a fine backbone, slightly chalky in texture with a stern, minerally, quasi-Pommard-like finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Promising. Drink 2024-2038’ (89-9) points, Neal Martin, Vinous Jan 2023
‘Unwinding in the glass with aromas of plums, raspberries and peony, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered, enveloping mid-palate and a saline finish.’ (90-92) points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023
‘Glowing purple with a magically refined nose, showing a bit of hillside but with plenty of ripe fruit on the bones. Significant weight on the plate, a touch more austerity at the finish, more red fruit than black, very fine indeed. Tasted: October 2021.’ 91-94 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
‘ A super-fresh nose freely offer up is essence of red cherry that is trimmed in a beautiful array of floral elements. There is a pungent minerality to the attractively textured, plump and punchy medium weight flavors that conclude in a linear, youthfully austere and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This is firm enough to offer up to a decade of improvement. Drink 2029+ ’ OUTSTANDING! 90-93 points, BURGHOUND.COM APR 2024

Natural cork. With both this cuvée and the wonderful Rugiens-Hauts, Leroux is back in Pommard with a bang. The 2019 is a blend of Les Vaumuriens (high on the slope) and Les Cras (on the lower slope), both vineyards lying on the Volnay side of the village. Leroux notes the cooler, hillside fruit from Les Vaumuriens brings freshness and balance to the blend. […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin LerouxA bright crimson red. After a few good few swirls, aromas of ripe raspberries, black cherries, wild herbs and some crushed violets soon emerge. The palate, though, doesn’t need much coaxing, and this silken, sappy wine has excellent depth and persistence. Will be even better six to 12 months from now. 96 points – Philip […]
Add to cart Producer: Giant StepsThe Lamarche Echézeaux comes from three lieux-dits: Les Cruots ou Vignes Blanches, Clos-Saint-Denis, and Les Champs Traversins. Altogether these parcels make up about 1.3 hectares of vines with an average age of 30 years. Nicole Lamarche works with very low yields here, which, alongside the Domaine’s delicate extraction, results in a superb expression of this terroir. Of this cuvée, Jasper Morris has […]

A terrific follow up to the excellent 2019 with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, baking spices and plum. Medium bodied, plush, succulent and sappy. The oak frames the wine nicely and is beautifully integrated. It’s delicate and pretty, the fruit sweet and tangy. Tannins are long, drawn out, powdery and soft. Very fine […]
