“Here’s a very classic Mosel Spatlese with exactly the combination of richness, elegance and delicacy that makes this category unique. Such delicate white peach and sliced pear, rose and honeysuckle aromas. Very long finish that is as succulent as it is refined. You just want to linger there for as long as you can. Drink or hold.” 96 points, Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com
“The 2022 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese #22 was selected in “two to three parcels of old vines,” Katharina Prüm explained. The nose still has a touch of yeast, and underneath, it shimmers almost with the crunch of a green but red-cheeked apple. The palate is utterly fine. This seems weightless and light, with the most serene balance of sweetness and freshness, coming across as effortless, unforced, with a subtle savoriness in the distance, waiting to make itself more felt in the future. For now, there is a gentle yet precise notion of white peach, tenderly sweet and utterly balanced. Supreme. Available at auction: 360 bottles, 12 magnums. (Medium)” 94-96 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

Very clear and flinty on the still reductive yet very precise and spring-like nose. Juicy and light on the palate, this is an intense, fruity, salty- piquant and stimulating Kabinett with the gorgeous fruit of the Juffer. Drink 2025-2045. 89-92 points – Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate, August 2020
Add to cart Producer: Fritz HaagLavish aromatics with yellow peach, lime, apricot, white flowers, grapefruit, lavender and mint. Full bodied, juicy, with waves of flavour, complexity and detail. Decadent, every sip revealing different facets and nuance. The acidity is perfect, balancing the sweetness, and driving the carry. One of the very best Mosel spatleses. Add to cart Producer: Julian HaartAlea holds some additional sweetness as its canon. There’s an appealing and ultra-high drinkability here. Charm in spades. Floral scents of frangipani and lemon blossom with candied ginger, lime juice, just-ripe pineapple and tonic water. Similar to taste with a slipperiness to texture that feels well metered by the building crispness of the finish. More […]
Add to cart Producer: GrossetI love the ‘R’ designations on the Pressing Matters rieslings. From R0 for bone-dry to R139 for sweet, they are an indication of the RS in the wine. The R9, in theory, should teeter on that fulcrum between dry and off-dry, but that crystalline Tasmanian acidity tempers any sweetness and it appears dry. And totally […]
