What I love about this wine is its generosity and juiciness. It’s not just another limey, palate stripping Riesling from the Clare. There’s weight, texture and power and the acidity is not the main feature. Citrus fruits, white flowers, salty and creamy. Curvaceous and precise with gin herbs, bath salts, tangy citrus, orchard fruits filling out the mid palate and cream. Very long finish and very approachable now. Waters Wine Co
From 1979-planted vines. The wine is fermented on lees, and unfined before bottling. This has a bit of X-factor, a decidedly textural style with good volume of flavour and attractive, floral-led perfume. It oscillates between pure lime and apple fruit characters, almond and cashew nut savouriness and a briny, mineral influence in both bouquet and flavours. Chalky influences play a hand, the wine teetering into medium weight while still being ultra refreshing. You drink this and think, ‘something interesting and extra is going on here’, and with that, we get a benefit. Not run of the mill. 94 Points, Halliday Wine Companion
As the name suggests this is sourced from Polish Hill River; a block planted in 1979 to Geisenheim sitting at 450m altitude. Free run juice only from chilled fruit fermented with neutral yeast on ‘fluffy lees’, unfined but lightly filtered before bottling. Green apple, brown lime, florals with a crunchy palate but well balanced acidity allowing it to drink beautifully now. Producers Notes
