“From vines planted in 2019, 2020 and 2021 with high-quality selections of Chardonnay, Dancer’s 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc delivers aromas of pear, white flowers and fresh mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive palate with good texture and cut, concluding with a gently aromatic finish.” 90 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
The Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune red and white come from the domaine’s young agroforestry project in Nantoux. Perched at 400 metres above Pommard, Nantoux is a strikingly pretty village known for its pink limestone quarries and hiking trails between vineyards, woods and meadows. The Dancers have planted two hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and interspersed all kinds of local trees on a limestone plateau. Although not the sole reason for investing in the area, it was hoped these vines would alleviate some of the pressure brought on by the domaine’s low yields in recent harvests. The mass-selection cuttings were developed with the help of Lilian Bérillon, the celebrated nurseryman who works with so many great growers. Already delivering quality, it’s clear that the wines from this site will be fascinating to follow over the years ahead.

“Complete harmony, a certain amount of nuance, lifted finish thanks to acceptable acidity. Bottled July. Pale lemon colour, a little more flesh on the nose, pleasingly rounded, very stylish. Buy this without question. With time in the glass the Chablis minerality shows as well as the pleasing flesh.” 89 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy […]
Add to cart Producer: Bernard DefaixFrom 0.51 ha of vines in 2 separate plots planted 1993 and 1965, one in the steepest stoniest part close to Blagny which contributes excellent acidity and structure, the other part is from lower down where the soil is richer and this part gives greater richness and depth to the wine. This shows wonderful intensity […]
Add to cart Producer: Jean-Louis ChavyImmense, proportioned Chardonnay, but with a tingling freshness to match the creamy, nutty spiciness. Full bodied, with yellow fruits, grapefruit, orange blossom, lime and lemon zest. Flinty and funky; slight savoury note and a moreish chewiness. For those who never fell out of love with Chardonnay. Waters Wine Co Expressive nose of white grapefruit, white […]
Add to cart Producer: Te MataScrewcap. Unusually for a Petit Chablis, which generally comes from the lower-lying sites on Portlandian limestone, the lion’s share of this cuvée is drawn from a parcel of Kimmeridgian-based soil. Yet it’s not necessarily the type of limestone but more the location that makes the difference. The small Defaix parcel is well situated on the […]
