‘I started with this in 2003 and it’s still something of a mystery to me; it’s a grand cru and I pose questions versus the grand crus here but in the end it’s all about interpretations. Always a surprising wine. The logic is the opposite of Bâtard for harvesting – I wait a little to gain a little depth, I think it benefits from maturity…’
Most of the grapes come from the north-west facing part of En Charlemagne, a choice to avoid too much exuberance. Clear pale colour, a little oak showing at the moment, but even so a touch of exotic fruit alongside the minerals. Quite a weight of white flesh here, a sturdy wine which needs long ageing. Drink from 2029-2036. (92-95) Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, October 2023.

Diam. Not all Petit Chablis is created equal! Moreau’s Petit Chablis comes from a single 2.5-hectare site between Courgis and Beine, just outside Chablis on the route to Auxerre. It has a southwest orientation and lies on Kimmeridgian soils (as opposed to the higher Portlandian soils on which most Petit is grown). Half of the plot […]
Add to cart Producer: Moreau-NaudetTangy and zesty with citrus, grapefruit, white peach, jasmine and pear. A wine that ensures that you’re tasting the south, full flavoured and rich, but perhaps slightly more controlled and linear than the rest of the range. Yellow fruits begin to emerge on the palate, but are kept very much in check by the lavish […]
Add to cart Producer: Saumaize-Michelin“The 2022 Meursault Village is ample and generous, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, clear honey, green apple and bread dough. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a rich core of fruit girdled by lively acids, it concludes with a saline finish.” 90-92 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate “The 2022 Meursault […]
Add to cart Producer: Henri GermainFrom ten small parcels of 20-60 year old vines. Les Tremblot, (“more Puligny in character, as the soil is argileous,” says Jean-Louis); Les Meix, Les Levrons (more rounded wine for there are more stones and gravel here and it is not so heavy), Corvée des Vignes and Les Reuchaux. These small vineyard holdings are all […]
