A tiny 0.23Ha plot. First slope of Beaune, next to Clos des Mouches. Top of the slope planted with Chardonnay. Vines aged 37 years. Vertical press so pressing is very slow. Aged on only fine lees. 10% new oak.
‘There is one barrel of the 2021 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru Blanc this year whereas usually there are five. It has an attractive, well-defined bouquet with dried honey, grilled walnut and light fumé scents. The palate is well balanced with fine depth and more complexity than Lafarge’s Meursault with a judicious touch of spice on the finish. Worth seeking out. Drink 2023-2038. Tasted Jan 2023’ (89-91) points, Neal Martin, Vinous
‘Notes of pear, peach, white flowers and buttery pastry introduce the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots Blanc, a medium-bodied, taut and racy wine, of which only one barrel was produced.’ 90-91 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023
‘One barrel only. Ripe fruit, a touch of bacon fat, then white stone fruit across the palate. Surprising depth behind with excellent acidity. Not quite a classical balance but there is a lot of wine here. Promising. Drink from 2025-2029. Tasted: October 2022.. 89-91 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

I don’t normally like fizzes aged for long periods on lees but this, disgorged after five years, seems to have hit a sweet spot. Still very primary and super intense with pastry notes, butter, apple, almond cream, lavender, honey, grapefruit, lemon, lime, white peach and cinnamon. Fantastic intensity with great vibrancy, the acidity so lively […]
Add to cart Producer: MeadowbankFrom 0.51 ha of vines in 2 separate plots planted 1993 and 1965, one in the steepest stoniest part close to Blagny which contributes excellent acidity and structure, the other part is from lower down where the soil is richer and this part gives greater richness and depth to the wine. This shows wonderful intensity […]
Add to cart Producer: Jean-Louis ChavyThe lieux-dit of Les Chevalieres is situated above the village of Meursault. Above is the lieux-dit of Les Luchets, which produces a higher toned, more tensile wine. I can’t help but think that this is ideally situated, in a sense, mid-slope, the perfect aspect in Burgundy. Impossibly complex, with notes of white flowers, lemon, lime, […]
Add to cart Producer: Fabien CocheThree 1er Crus combined: Combes (0.33 ha), Perrières (0.44 ha) and Les Creots (0.52ha) – made first time in 2016 due to the frost, ‘the name is from my maternal grandmother who died about the same time as the frost in 2016. We continue…’ ‘This cuvee has been a blend of Perrières, Combes, Créots and […]
