Aromas of vanilla, spice, discreet wood, frangipani, lemon oil and apricot. Almost full bodied, luscious and concentrated. Very complex. Yellow peach, lime, apricot, spice and subtly peach skin texture. Full of extract, amplitude and very long. The best Bourgogne Blanc we’ve tasted for a long time. Waters Wine Co
Regarded by those in the know as one of the great Bourgogne-level whites, this comes from just over a single hectare spread across five parcels—all in Meursault, and all neighbouring village-level vineyards. These parcels are Sous la Velle, En l’Ormeau, Les Herbeux, Les Lameroses and En la Monatine. The average age of the vines is 20 years. Volumes were reasonably close to normal this year and the wine itself is simply outstanding. Importer’s Notes
The 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay confirms its fine showing from barrel, wafting from the glass with aromas of white flowers, lemon oil, almond paste, crisp green apple and wet stones. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with excellent concentration and a long, penetrating finish. 89 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Outstanding. Top Value. Here too the nose is super-fresh though with a different aromatic profile of apple, pear and lemon rind. The energetic and well-detailed flavors possess a really lovely texture for a wine of this level, all wrapped in a lingering and saline-inflected finish. This is an excellent Bourgogne. 87-89 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

This terroir has historically always been very highly regarded by locals and produces […]
Add to cart Producer: Christian MoreauLike the Pinots, the Chardonnays from Pooley’s two respective vineyards – Butchers and Cooinda Vale – show marked differences, particularly for the 2021 vintage. Stunning aromatics immediately draw you in. Citrus, nectarine, white peach, grapefruit, cashew, flinty notes and star jasmine. Immensely powerful, with incredible fruit concentration and textural chew. A real mouthful, as it […]
Add to cart Producer: PooleyA contemporary style of Yarra Valley chardonnay, along the lines of Hoddles Creek. Intense, precise, puckering and salty. Apple, lemon, pink grapefruit, cinnamon, butter, preserved lime and orange blossom. Very linear structure, all the elements traced by fine acidity. Unique style? Excellent stuff. Waters Wine Co Slightly reductive at first—smoky, then talcy and restrained, fresh […]

Stunning bouquet, worried I might impale my nose on the glass. White and yellow flowers, mint, green apple, white peach, butter, lime and blackcurrant. Such a statement from Goisot combining vitality, weight of flesh, signature chalk and salt. Incredible complexity with some darker fruits of paw paw and apricot, dusted with fennel and rhubarb. Immense […]
