55/45% pinot noir/chardonnay. The base vintage is 2018 with reserve wines added; 40 months on lees. Disgorged October, 2021. 8g/L dosage. A finely beaded, salmon-pink sparkling that rates among Australia’s best. Confidently presented with complexity and poise, Altair wears a delicate sheen of savoury autolysis with almonds, baked pastry, poached pear, bright red berries aromas. Layer upon layer of delicate flavour, texture and depth. Runs fine, long and so impressive. All class. 96 points – Halliday Wine Companion 2021
Deviation Road’s Rose Sparkling is made with fruit from the cool south-facing slopes high in the Adelaide Hills. Sweet strawberry, cherry and spice aromas follow through to the palate, where the lively bubbles add lift and balance to these fruit flavours. Wonderful length and supple mouth feel.
