The rosé 2021 Gratallops Vi de Villa Rosat was produced with a majority (70% to 80%) in the Planassos part between Mogador and Manyetes of Garnacha, Macabeo and Cariñena plus the grapes from younger vines (Mogador, Nelin…). It has a bright salmon color and a very different and characterful nose, savory, reminiscent of chicken broth (salty!), herbal and super tasty. It’s quite direct, with 13.5% alcohol and very good freshness, a bit atypical for Priorat, very long, precise, clean and dry. This matured in a 2,000-liter 10-year-old oak foudre for 18 months. They produced some 3,000 bottles. Brilliant! 94 Points, Robert Parker – Wine Advocate
A GSM from Beechworth may sound incongruous, but if ever you were ever in any doubt of the greatness and versatility of the region, Juliard’s GSM will change your mind. All the varietals shine in this blend and this is certainly greater than the sum of its parts. The fruit is estate grown, planted on […]
Add to cart Producer: JuliardFor those who think shiraz is boring, think again. Here, the grape arrives in a full ball of energy, all plummy and red-fruited, peppery and bright. Pristine fruit carries the wine, together with subtle baking spices, cocoa powder and sweet earthy notes, threaded brightly together in juicy tannins. Speaks of a varietal purity and lighter-bodied […]
Add to cart Producer: JuliardThe second release of rosé for MMAD, and from all varieties on the old vineyard: grenache, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and chenin blanc. Like the 2023, the proportions are a mystery, and lifted herbal notes of cabernet again lead the aromatics, but the colour has been dialled down to a classic coral pink. Grenache lends red-fruited […]
Add to cart Producer: MMAD‘The 2022 Rosé de Loire displays a smokey mix of crushed apples and wet stones. Sour citrus and tart orchard fruits nicely contrast a pleasant inner sweetness. A mineral staining lingers while the 2022 finishes fresh and with a crunchy sensation.’ Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2023. Substantially Cabernet Franc (80%), with some Grolleau (20%), […]
