The rosé 2021 Gratallops Vi de Villa Rosat was produced with a majority (70% to 80%) in the Planassos part between Mogador and Manyetes of Garnacha, Macabeo and Cariñena plus the grapes from younger vines (Mogador, Nelin…). It has a bright salmon color and a very different and characterful nose, savory, reminiscent of chicken broth (salty!), herbal and super tasty. It’s quite direct, with 13.5% alcohol and very good freshness, a bit atypical for Priorat, very long, precise, clean and dry. This matured in a 2,000-liter 10-year-old oak foudre for 18 months. They produced some 3,000 bottles. Brilliant! 94 Points, Robert Parker – Wine Advocate
European in style. At least in the sense that it’s herbal, savoury, spicy and salty. Lifted red fruits, but it really is about those herbal elements and some lanolin fluffiness on the midpalate. Finishes mildly textural and slightly saline. Mouthwatering and delicious. Give it some food! Waters Wine Co
Add to cart Producer: Bloody Hill, Timo MayerAlea holds some additional sweetness as its canon. There’s an appealing and ultra-high drinkability here. Charm in spades. Floral scents of frangipani and lemon blossom with candied ginger, lime juice, just-ripe pineapple and tonic water. Similar to taste with a slipperiness to texture that feels well metered by the building crispness of the finish. More […]
Add to cart Producer: GrossetA blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, the exact proportions closely guarded, this delivers exactly what we’ve come to expect from this wine. The consistent elements of Redskin lolly are there, with strawberries, cream, some bittering grapefruit rind balance, a brush of garrigue herbs, all wrapped up in a slightly oily, generous texture. Add to cartLovely poise and subtle complexity on show, which makes you wonder why Beechworth doesn’t produce more sparklings. Scent of wild red fruits, herbs and spice with some lifted spring florals. Builds on the palate with a good core of fresh fruit persistence enhanced by some gentle autolysis-derived savoury, toasty complexity. Base wine of Sorrenberg pinot […]
