A blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, the exact proportions closely guarded, this delivers exactly what we’ve come to expect from this wine. The consistent elements of Redskin lolly are there, with strawberries, cream, some bittering grapefruit rind balance, a brush of garrigue herbs, all wrapped up in a slightly oily, generous texture.
Vintage 2023 sees a pleasant crystalline mineral edge which we’ve seen in a number of rosés from this season; a definition which gives sophistication and precision well beyond this wine’s level. It would be caddish to call this ‘best one yet’, but we were excited after sampling it at the estate, and retasting straight off the boat has confirmed our enthusiasm, a particularly strong release here.
