The power of blends is clearly evident and this was for me my favorite wine in the Tim Smith line up. The different grapes have complemented each other beautifully. Rich, juicy, hedonistic, fragrant and savory, the Mataro adding smoke, compost and firm, grippy tannins. Controlled power, the shiraz still comes through strongly, a mass of dark fruits, whilst the grenache adds lift, aromatics and suppleness. A thoroughly complete wine and as always from Tim Smith, an absolute bargain. Waters Wine Co
Holy terroir batman! The 2022 twist on a GSM blend from Tim Smith emits distinct fresh potting soil, granite and black cherry skin. Mourvèdre is king here showing its rustic nature in pure black peppercorn, smoked salt and pastrami. It’s glorious in its chastity of fruit, restraint of oak and slinky palate weight. For a winemaker whose fingerprint is on the label you see a lack of winemaker fiddling and more of the site the grapes are grown and savvy timing of picking. Delicious wine and stylish as all hell. Drink with peppercorn studded salami in handfuls. 95 points – Shanteh Wale, Wine Pilot
Deep, dense color and a superbly rich, ripe bouquet revealing dark berry and dark plum aromas, a whisper of sweet mint and a trace of bitumen, the palate plush and supple, fleshy and rich in ripe fruit flavor, with ample fine grained tannins. Delicious wine. 93 points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review
