Made from the first vineyard planted in the Canberra District in ’71. A charming, sophisticated, medium-bodied shiraz. Youthful, savoury and spicy with ethereal top notes of pink peppercorn, rose petals, lemon zest, cherries and spice. The flavours are wrapped around a beautiful core of fine acidity. Fragrant, cleansing and refined. 96 Points, Halliday Wine Companion
The Cullarin Vineyard sits overlooking Lake George in NSW near the ACT border. Established by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971, it is the oldest vineyard in the greater Canberra wine region. A cool climate savoury Shiraz, with the vineyard at 750m elevation. Medium density colour and purple tints. Brambly, red cherry fruit aromas and these follow to the palate. Sweet cashew oak and fine tannins from the lower alcohol. Producer’s Notes
