Curator Wine Co Hamlets Shiraz 2023

$28.00

Hamlets Shiraz (previously known as Parishes Shiraz) is a blend from different sub regions or “Hamlets”  from where we grow and buy grapes from across the Barossa Valley.

Hamlets Shiraz is made in a complex but juicy style that is true to our house style but extremely easy to drink though complex enough to be able to cellar for many years of future enjoyment. Predominantly from three vineyards all planted in the 1950’s in the Hamlets of Vine Vale, Nuriootpa and Ebenezer and then “topped up” with declassified barrels from the CWCo Shiraz blend that didn’t make that blend.

No new oak, only seasoned barrels of USA and French, made in a juicy but complex style.

Shiraz sourced from old vineyards on the Valley floor, planted in the 1950s and 1960s. Magenta-splashed crimson with characters of satsuma plum conserve, blueberry and boysenberry fruits with hints of spice, earth, purple flowers, roasting meats, licorice, dark chocolate and olive tapenade. There’s a sleek, wonderfully pure flow of plummy fruit on the palate, softly spoken oak, silty tannins and a bright line driving things along. 93 points – Halliday Wine Companion 2025
