One of the greatest ever vintages in Bordeaux, Chateau de Cerons has judged the conditions beautifully. Aromatic with notes of flowers, a compote of black, red and bramble fruits, baking spice, wood notes and tobacco. Composed and fluid, a sort of firm elegance. The palate’s fruit is more red and tangy. Medium bodied, energetic and with a great tension of elements, the tannins, authoritative and firm. Wonderful food wine, offering great value classicism. Waters Wine Co
Very fresh, with plenty of black fruit and menthol notes, the 2020 Château de Cérons is incredibly energetic and full of charm. The palate is juicy, round, almost mellow, and above all, the tannins are perfectly polished. Pure indulgence. A beautiful bottle in the making. A sure bet. Almost ideal as is. 91-93 points, Yohan Castaing
Gentle brambled fruit flavours; beautifully balanced and fresh, full of signature Graves finesse, sappy and enticing. 50% new oak barrels give the barest smudge of smoke. Drinking Window 2022 – 2028. 91 points, Jane Anson
An inviting nose with subtle lactic and spicy notes, dark cherries, blackberries, and chili, exciting. On the palate, juicy, well-structured, lively, and elegant, the fruit appears ripe, yet there’s also plenty of freshness at play. Delicate, with fine tannins and a long, spicy-floral finish. Charming, will quickly become a pleasure to drink. 2023-2032. 90-91 points, Adrian Van Velsen

Imperious Latour. Many have described Chateau Latour as the greatest vineyard in the world and under the current direction of Frederic Engerer and owner Francois Pinault there is a determination to make the greatest wine possible. Chateau Latour no longer sells their wines en primeur, choosing to wait until they are deemed ready. Three wines are produced here and amongst the First Growths, this is perhaps the grandest and most consistent line up. The Grand Vin makes up roughly a third of production, the ‘second’ wine, Les Forts de Latour, a little more and the ‘third’ wine, Pauillac de Latour, roughly a quarter.
It is important to note that the second and third wines are not baby Latours. They are individual wines in their own right, coming from different parts of the vineyard to the Grand Vin and possessing a different varietal makeup. Latour has been groundbreaking in this insistence, not wishing to yield the quality of the Grand Vin and not making a fetish of the estate’s style either. Forts and Pauillac de Latour are wonderful wines, the incomparable quality of the estate an iron-fisted gauntlet of pleasure.
