A similar vintage to the 2012, but may see even greater heights. The emblematic wine of the estate, a blend of fruit from all pinot noir vineyards. Pure scents of blueberry, Asian spices, kirsch, cassis, violets, blood plum and a touch of cola. Composed and refined, mid-weight with a structure that is unique to Rippon, framing all the flavours from the moment the liquid hits the tongue. Texture and flavours woven seamlessly and tightly pulled. Some herbal notes of thyme and sage to mix with the savoury fruit. Precise, detailed and layered, with those suede and chalk tannins effortlessly holding the wine for minutes. I think this will be longer than the 2012, such is the balance and carry, and remarkable translucence of fruit. Waters Wine Co
Firm and tight licorice, graphite, slate and light dried strawberry. Goes to iron. Flowers. Medium body. Creamy and fine tannins with a rather dusty finish. Fresh acidity and long and linear finish. Structured. From biodynamically grown grapes. Better after 2024, but already beautiful. 98 Points – James Suckling

The 2020 Volnay Village wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries, sweet spices and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and succulent, with melting tannins and a saline finish, it includes roughly one-third premier cru fruit. Add to cartThe 2017 Vat 6 Tyrrell’s Pinot Noir is gorgeous. It’s nervy and has that fabulous angular structure unique to Tyrrell’s. There is a complexity of flavour that I have not yet seen from this wine. Raspberry, strawberry and cranberry with hints of porcini mushroom and cured meat. There are also wonderful hints of oak spice […]

From Petit Pré whichwas once classified as Volnay villages. Planted between 1966-1977. 2 weeks cuvaison, indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged for 18 months in older barrels. ‘Offering up aromas of earthy red berries and spices, the 2021 Bourgogne Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, lively and mouthwatering.’ 86-88 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023 ‘A paler pink crimson. Superb classic floral pinot nose. Fills the […]

A difficult hot year 2023, it’s had to believe that such as pure, supple and translucent wine could be forged from such difficulty. Medium bodied, with the black and hedge fruits mashed with licorice, mace, fennel, pink peppercorns and […]
