A similar vintage to the 2012, but may see even greater heights. The emblematic wine of the estate, a blend of fruit from all pinot noir vineyards. Pure scents of blueberry, Asian spices, kirsch, cassis, violets, blood plum and a touch of cola. Composed and refined, mid-weight with a structure that is unique to Rippon, framing all the flavours from the moment the liquid hits the tongue. Texture and flavours woven seamlessly and tightly pulled. Some herbal notes of thyme and sage to mix with the savoury fruit. Precise, detailed and layered, with those suede and chalk tannins effortlessly holding the wine for minutes. I think this will be longer than the 2012, such is the balance and carry, and remarkable translucence of fruit. Waters Wine Co
Firm and tight licorice, graphite, slate and light dried strawberry. Goes to iron. Flowers. Medium body. Creamy and fine tannins with a rather dusty finish. Fresh acidity and long and linear finish. Structured. From biodynamically grown grapes. Better after 2024, but already beautiful. 98 Points – James Suckling

Natural cork. With both this cuvée and the wonderful Rugiens-Hauts, Leroux is back in Pommard with a bang. The 2019 is a blend of Les Vaumuriens (high on the slope) and Les Cras (on the lower slope), both vineyards lying on the Volnay side of the village. Leroux notes the cooler, hillside fruit from Les Vaumuriens brings freshness and balance to the blend. […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin LerouxA feature of Farrside is its combination of sweet and savoury spice, flowers and flavoured tobacco. An extremely exotic and singular wine, 2022 sees its uniqueness in the extreme. Fenugreek, cumin, violets, lavender, Turkish tobacco, red fruit compote and blackberry. Prickling with acidity, edgier and more angular than recent vintages, the Farrside’s savoury side on […]
Add to cart Producer: By FarrIt’s hard to go past the cliche of ethereal, but it is, always. Incredible vibrancy of aromatics with cedar, violets, lavender, dark cherry, blackcurrant, rhubarb, poached plum and sweet Middle Eastern spices. The whole bunch is so controlled, with Asian spices integrating beautifully with silken sheets of black fruits and blueberry. The fruit is so […]
Add to cart Producer: By FarrThe 2017 Vat 6 Tyrrell’s Pinot Noir is gorgeous. It’s nervy and has that fabulous angular structure unique to Tyrrell’s. There is a complexity of flavour that I have not yet seen from this wine. Raspberry, strawberry and cranberry with hints of porcini mushroom and cured meat. There are also wonderful hints of oak spice […]
