A 0.66 plot lanted in 1949, 1964, 2012 Clay/limestone gravelly soil with red clay. 100% de-stemmed, not crushed, ambient yeast fermentation, aged in barrels (0-15% new), no fining, no filtration.
‘ The 2021 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an attractive nose with crushed strawberry and raspberry scents, becoming more floral in the glass with aeration. The palate is lively with a fine backbone, slightly chalky in texture with a stern, minerally, quasi-Pommard-like finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Promising. Drink 2024-2038’ (89-9) points, Neal Martin, Vinous Jan 2023
‘Unwinding in the glass with aromas of plums, raspberries and peony, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered, enveloping mid-palate and a saline finish.’ (90-92) points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023
‘Glowing purple with a magically refined nose, showing a bit of hillside but with plenty of ripe fruit on the bones. Significant weight on the plate, a touch more austerity at the finish, more red fruit than black, very fine indeed. Tasted: October 2021.’ 91-94 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
‘ A super-fresh nose freely offer up is essence of red cherry that is trimmed in a beautiful array of floral elements. There is a pungent minerality to the attractively textured, plump and punchy medium weight flavors that conclude in a linear, youthfully austere and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This is firm enough to offer up to a decade of improvement. Drink 2029+ ’ OUTSTANDING! 90-93 points, BURGHOUND.COM APR 2024

As always, the fruit for this wine comes from the plateau at Daix, near Marsannay. The vines sit at 400 metres, which brings freshness and purity. The very low yields contribute remarkable depth and age-worthiness. Even at this level, over 60% bunches were included, and only 5% new oak. This has always been a brilliant […]
