“The 2022 Bourgogne Cuvée de Noble Souche is pretty and giving, bursting with aromas of plums, raspberry liqueur and rose petals. Medium-bodied, supple and succulent, it will drink well on release.” 88-89 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
“Fresh deep purple, with its usual very exciting lifted bouquet. A full succulent raspberry and fresh plum fruit, adequate acidity, refined tannins, and super length.” 88-90 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
As always, the fruit for this wine comes from the plateau at Daix, near Marsannay. The vines sit at 400 metres, bringing significant freshness and purity. Meanwhile, the very low yields contribute remarkable depth and ageworthiness. Even at this level, over 50% bunches were included, and only 10% new oak. This has always been a brilliant Bourgogne, and the 2022 is absolutely true to form! It is truly superb for the level.

Light in colour, with scents of an English Summer. Sweet strawberry, raspberry and cherry, with star anise, clove and fennel seeds. Silky, sappy, supple and mineral, very gentle mouthfeel, but totally immersing the palate in flavour. Beautifully toned wine, the fruit so fresh and pure. But it’s the lightness I love, the gentleness and ballerina […]

A bright crimson red. After a few good few swirls, aromas of ripe raspberries, black cherries, wild herbs and some crushed violets soon emerge. The palate, though, doesn’t need much coaxing, and this silken, sappy wine has excellent depth and persistence. Will be even better six to 12 months from now. 96 points – Philip […]
Read more Producer: Giant StepsAs I write this, I’ve just returned from judging at the 2025 Tasmanian Wine Show, where this particular wine put in a stellar showing at the pointy end of the trophy judging. Gee it’s lovely. There’s not a hair out of place. Beautifully pure red berry and raspberry fruits with great carry of aroma and […]

A lifted bouquet redolent of summer red fruits, poached rhubarb, rose bush and white pepper. The energetic palate is light to medium bodied with the wine’s fine-grained tannins and bright acidity making for a delicious and refreshing mouthful. Good, nay, great […]
