The most intense, floral, savoury, spicy and sappy wine from the Chatto stable. From old vines, planted in 1998 by Dr Andrew Pirie in Pipers River. Showing the coolness and intensity of the vintage and combined with naturally low yields, concentration and power. high toned aromatics of Old Spice, baking spices, tangy red fruits and fresh lavender. Elegance doesn’t mean there’s any loss of power in this case, and there is a depth of fruit and concentration that belies the wine’s natural florals and sleek lines. Savoury and spicy elements are interwoven with the fruit and the tannins are something you can smell, taste and feel. Grippy, very serious and compact, the structure unrelenting, yet the fruit is all energy and joy. One of the best. Waters Wine Co
