Named for Robyn Pamela Farr, the matriarch behind the Farr dynasty, RP is a wine with both substance and soul. Robyn’s contribution extends far beyond unwavering support of Gary’s four-decade career. She planted the vines, drove the tractors, filled barrels and pigeaged at midnight. Whatever the job, whatever the hour, Mum has always been the one they call.
Sourced from the exposed, densely planted slopes of the Côte Vineyard, RP is Pinot Noir of concentration, polish and quiet authority. Darker and silkier in profile, it unfurls with ripe cherry, sour cherry and warm spice, layered with cocoa and a haunting perfume. Fine, talc-like tannins give way to a satin-smooth palate, seamless yet powerful, with freshness and detail that build with time in the glass.
A wine of depth, elegance and extraordinary persistence, RP reveals another facet with every passing hour. A fitting tribute to the woman at the heart of it all.

Plenty of volume and shape, the fruit succulent and juicy – balanced by darker, savoury elements. So much textural flavour complexity, the wine a shape shifter in the glass. […]

A high proportion of whole bunches brings lift and aromatic complexity, building into a mid-palate of real flesh and weight, framed by finely wrought, cashmere-like tannins. The fruit is pure and expressive—compote of red and darker berries layered with lifted florals – while savoury nuances of spice, cured meat, earth and a subtle ferrous edge […]

The vineyard name, Les Longeroies, probably comes from the French verb longer, which means ‘to border’. This makes sense as Longeroies is on the boundary between Marsannay and the next village of Chenôve. It is one of the star climats of the AOC and has been earmarked for promotion to 1er Cru (when Marsannay finally gets some!). Longeroies faces south, […]
