An incredible infusion of red fruits, potpourri, savoury and sweet spice. Medium bodied, in a way, as the palate seems to add greater depth and size. Rich and flavoursome, slick and silky with a lovely squeeze of tannin on the close. Elegant, pretty and more serpentine than most McLaren Vale Grenache’s, pinot-esque and fine boned seem to be the trend these days. But this is better! Waters Wine Co
Blewitt Springs grenache grown on 82-year-old vines; 20% whole bunches in the ferment, then matured in a combination of used French oak and terracotta eggs. Reserved on the nose but the palate is a powerhouse. This is the bright, beautiful face of modern Australian grenache. Red-cherried fruit, tips of red licorice, fragrant herbs and a combination of saltbush, sandalwood and purple flowers. The tannin goes on and on, and the fruit rides with it. 95 Points James Halliday Wine Companion
