Aromas of citrus blossom, dried apricot and fresh fig transfer to the palate, where notes of freshly brewed coffee and toffee round out the complex flavor. This wine has lovely mouthfeel, with roundness on the palate and just the right amount of acidity to prevent this caramel-colored Eszencia from being too cloying. 97 points, Jeff Jenssen, Wine Enthusiast
Throughout history, Eszencia has been perhaps the world’s most revered, most legendary of all sweet wines (it even merits mention in Hungary’s national anthem!) This is an Aszú Eszencia which means it is made from shrivelled, botrytised grapes in the usual Aszu fashion, but here the concentration exceeds the top Aszú level of six puttonyos.
Alongside 1999 and 2000, the 2005 Tokaji vintage is one for the history books, bestowing great intensity, deep structure and the acidity required for long aging. “To me, the wines of 2005 are like watching a firework display: explosive, bright, colourful and vibrant”, lends László Mészáros. It’s certainly a remarkable wine now, and will continue developing for decades.
Beautifully lifted aromatics of citrus oil, marzipan, pomegranate, white peach, dried apricot and honey. The palate is mid weighted for a 3 Puttonyos wine, and is incredible approachable. Very complex flavours and texture with preserved lime, honey, ginger, orange zest, yellow peach, jasmine and caramelised hazelnut. Luscious and creamy with a gorgeous fluffy texture, closing […]
Add to cart Producer: OremusThis is arguably the greatest rosé wine of Champagne. Why is it so good? Well, the first reason is that the fruit comes from 100% Grand Cru estate vines grown by one of the most meticulous vignerons in the region. Then there is the five percent of Egly’s 2015 Coteaux Champenois Rouge—the finest red wine […]
Add to cart Producer: Egly-Ouriet2017 is the first ever release of the Mother’s Shiraz. It has an intense aromatic profile that is very true to the Tyrrell’s style with an abundance of summer fruits. The palate is fresh and juicy with only the subtle influence of oak. Mother’s vineyard is situated adjacent to Chris and Tegan Tyrrell’s house and […]

Late harvest usually usually implies a desert wine, which is true in this case. However, similar to a German Spatlese riesling, you could match this with richer savoury dishes too. Fermented slowly, through late Autumn and into winter, stopping naturally when the winery is covered in snow and is too cold to carry on. Star […]
