“The 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese is concentrated and fresh on the aromatic nose that is immediately present but also still reductive. Ripe stone fruit aromas intermingle with notes of crushed stones on a deep foundation of aromas from the soil and the fruit of old vines. On the palate, the 2021 is very fine but also intense, savory, saline and lush, leading to a long, intense and highly digestible finish with crunchy and cleansing slate features. Again, this is a fabulous Auslese from Prüm’s iconic Sonnenuhr. 7% stated alcohol.” 97 points, Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
“The 2021er Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese proves hugely refreshing as intense scents of mint, green herbs, and smoke first come through. With more airing, it shows almond cream, tangerine, lead pencil, and flint stone. The wine shows a lot more presence and ripeness as rich and almost exotic flavors of tangerine, candied pineapple, honeyed peach, and a hint of apricot. The finish is very precise and long, and the after-taste is creamy and more delicate. It proves still very much work in progress and has easily upside potential with time. 2031-2051” 94+ points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines
“A surprisingly open nose defines the 2021 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese, revealing a herbal savor that is reminiscent of moss, chervil, and carrot top, but just a hint. The palate is a gorgeously concentrated stream of ripe citrus, combining the aromatic intensity and ripeness of Amalfi lemon, the brightness of lime and the sweetness of sugared orange flesh. So direct, so precise, sweet but utterly balanced. Clear as a bell.” 96 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

The Römerstich location is Marcus Hees’ top Auen location. The 35-50 year old vines grow at an altitude of 280 metres on the typical slate-weathered soils of the region. Spontaneous fermentation, maturation 50% in stainless steel and 50% in the 500 litre Tonneau and 1200 litre Stockinger Fuder. The Rieslings from Römerstich are somewhat more generous and expressive than those […]
Add to cart Producer: HeesBright, intense and tingling with tang. Incredible focus of citrus, stone, orchard and tropical fruit. Fresh herbs from the garden, mint, marjoram and tarragon, mingled with jasmine. Incredible depth and power, the flavours layered and being so bright, bordering on hedonistic. Pure, clear, ethereal and elegant, brimming with energy, character and driving power. Remarkable wine, […]
Add to cart Producer: Fritz HaagFrom the Coal River Valley; made by Sam Connew. Acidity is the secret to all things sweet, and the cool 2021 harvest was idyllic for wines of this ilk. Pale straw green; it leaps from the glass with brilliant purity of white lily fragrance, Granny Smith apple, lime and lemon. Not a molecule out of […]
Add to cart Producer: Pressing MattersRemarkably complex nose of yellow fruits, mango, starfruit, lime marmalade, peach and pear. Truthfully, this is very hard to describe, due to the level of complexity and detail, but I’ll try! Luscious and piquant, with ripe tropical fruits, cut through with citrus, cherry, honey and a faint dusting of herbs. Refined and detailed, the sweetness […]
