The Römerstich location is Marcus Hees’ top Auen location. The 35-50 year old vines grow at an altitude of 280 metres on the typical slate-weathered soils of the region. Spontaneous fermentation, maturation 50% in stainless steel and 50% in the 500 litre Tonneau and 1200 litre Stockinger Fuder. The Rieslings from Römerstich are somewhat more generous and expressive than those from Halenberg, which are smokier and more mineral. Rightly Markus’ Signature wine.
