Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc 2021
$95.00The Anjou Blanc is from old densely planted vines, rooted in shallow sand and schist soils. Aged for up to 18 months in 500L and Stockinger “cigar” barrels, 30% of which are new. This is certainly the estates signature style, if more approachable, fuller and rounder than the more aristocratic Savennieres. Clear, tender, transparent and […]

Alheit Vineyards Huilkrans Chenin Blanc 2023
$165.00“Huilkrans comes from Jozua Visser’s Oudam farm, located at 450 metres in an isolated spot on Citrusdal Mountain, sometimes called the Skurfberg. Planted between 1974 and 1978, the vines are all dry-farmed, producing yields of almost painful paucity. Fermented in old barrels before ageing on lees for 12 months, this sings with what Chris Alheit […]

Sadie Family Citrusdal Mountain Kokerboom 2024
$185.00“Sliced pears, beeswax, grapefruit, wild herbs and juniper berries on the nose of this full-bodied, creamy white. Lots of weight and layering, with a waxy yet fresh feel. Spicy, long finish. Exciting hint of ginger and tobacco at the very end. Co-planted semillon and semillon gris.” 96 points, JamesSuckling.com “Kokerboom combines Semillon with 30% of its […]

Somos Fiano & Amigos 2026
$25.00Generously fruited and textural, yet crisp and refreshing; this is an inherently interesting drop! Cool yellow peach, Meyer lemon, cider apple and pomelo pith. A little chewy, saline and sapid, with enough tension to keep you coming back. Exceptional value. A thinking-person’s easy-drinking delight.

Gabrielskloof The Landscape Elodie Chenin Blanc 2023
$55.00“This wonderfully ageworthy Chenin Blanc comes from the same five sites in the Swartland as it has since its maiden vintage in 2015. Barrel-fermented with full malolactic, it has amazing grip and minerality, with thatch, nutmeg and aniseed aromas, honey, baking spice and tarte tatin flavours and palate-cleansing acidity. 2022-28” 96 Points – Tim Atkin […]

Alheit Vineyards Hemelrand Vine Garden 2022
$90.00“One of my picks from Alheit this year. Excellent…This used to be the one wine from Alheit Vineyards that we didn’t include in our allocation request, because we felt it always had too much Muscat in the blend. It’s perfectly clear to me, and should be to anyone else, that Chris Alheit has taken heed of our important opinion and has […]

Alheit Vineyards Hereafter Here Chenin Blanc 2023
$65.00Hereafter Here is what Chris Alheit calls a “young vineyard wine” although it contains older material from the Paardeberg and Tygerberg too. Blended with a splash of Semillon from Franschhoek, it’s a total bargain in the range, with a nice interplay of lees, beeswax and granite-derived structure and a touch of flinty reduction. 2024-29’ – 94 […]

Serrat Grenache Blanc 2024
$45.00Only a single 500L old French oak barrel’s worth of wine, and as far as I’m aware the only grenache blanc from the Yarra Valley. Beautifully composed with citrus blossom, savoury spice, Victoria plum, matchstick, green melon and citrus marmalade. Plump, pure, fleshy and a lovely tension between savoury and fruitiness. Rich in flavour, but […]

Theo Dancer Vin de France Jurassique Savagnin 2021
$210.00Emphasising purity and terroir rather than flor-aging notes, this is Savagnin ouillé sourced from the fossil-rich marl soils of L’Étoile, in Jura’s southwest. The grapes were pressed and put directly into large oak barrels. The resulting wine is superb. So fine, racy and delicious with lovely texture and a gorgeous, tangy close.
