“The raspberry, orange-blossom, jasmine and white-tea character suggests a wine that’s less sweet and structured than this is. Still very youthful, with serious tension between the slightly grainy tannins and crisp acidity and the lush elements of the wine. Long, very bright finish.” 93 points, jamessuckling.com
“The Riesling trocken 2021 Kiedrich offers a fine yet intense and well-concentrated nose of ripe citrus fruit (and orange) aromas intermingled with notes of crushed stones. Round and elegant on the palate, with a charmingly refined and mouth-filling texture and very fine, ripe acidity, this is a tense, saline,
very persistent and lingering mineral Riesling with remarkable quality and complexity.” 92 points, Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
This is drawn from two of the great Keidrich sites: Klosterberg and Sandgrub. Klosterberg is one of the Rheingau’s highest vineyards, where deep, weathered quartzite soils produce some of the town’s most exciting Riesling. Fricke works mainly with old vines here. Sandgrub is a vineyard known for wines of great fruit intensity and juicy character. The wine was naturally fermented and raised for seven months on lees in stainless steel.
