From 50-70 year old vines, rooted in Devonian slate. Lime zest, fresh earth, minerals, white cherry and blackcurrant. Loewen’s wines possess that rare combination succulence, breadth and richness, tensioned by intense acidity and mineral presence. There is a hint of sweetness, essentially a feinherb, not that it’s labelled as such, and the balance is impeccable. A great introduction to the wines of the Mosel, sweet or dry. Waters Wine Co
