Nocturne Single Vineyard Wilson Chardonnay 2024

This lovely, supple, subtle wine, while being just that, still has trademark Margaret River fruit weight and drive. Think blossom, white nectarine, purity all wrapped in a Nocturne Chardonnay mineral blanket. Generous, flashy yet restrained with a touch of the 2024 sun. Mineral-edged aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, struck match, sea spray, wet stones and nectarines. The textural, refined palate shows bright acidity and real tension beneath controlled power. There’s enough funk in this to get a party started. It’s so lively and racy thanks to the acidity. Tight and linear but certainly not lean as there’s plenty of flavour, with mouth-watering sulphides, lemon-lime juice and zest, pink grapefruit and a feathering of nutty lees and spicy oak layering the palate. 96 points – Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
