A blend of Dijon clones 76 and 95, from the south of Margaret River. Fermented and matured on lees in French oak (40% new). Occasional bâtonnage throughout 10 months in barrel. This is the first Purus since 2014; the earlier vintages contained Gingin clones. Distinctly mineral with crushed granite, quartz and sand littered throughout the bounty of white peach, nashi pear, red apple skins and little flecks of flint. An extremely elegant and nuanced wine – supremely beautiful. Knife-edge stuff. 98 points – Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
