“Ooh – here is volume and an inviting depth of aroma – and very Meursault too. Rich but mobile, becoming juicier as you head into the finish. That’s a great little Bourgogne – give it an extra chill if you want more tension! Great finishing.” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
One of the greatest Bourgogne-level whites we know, this comes from just over a single hectare spread across five parcels—all in Meursault and all alongside village-level vineyards. These parcels are Sous la Velle, En l’Ormeau, Les Herbeux, Les Lameroses and La Monatine. The average age of the vines is 20 years. Further, the 2020 includes two barrels of wine from declassified young vines (2015) in Saint-Aubin’s 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard. It’s a gorgeously open, fleshy, deep Bourgogne that could so easily be mistaken for Meursault; it bears all the great appellation’s hallmarks.

“The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes is especially good this year, offering up aromas of citrus oil, lemon curd, pear, white flowers and bread dough framed by a deft touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave, with a deep, multidimensional core of fruit, racy acids and chalky structuring extract, it concludes […]
Add to cart Producer: Henri Germain2023 is a great vintage across Tasmania covering all varietals. Sourced from vines planted in 1987, the juice is whole bunch pressed into French oak, 10% new, for 9 months. Quite a contemporary style with tangy grapefruit, citrus, white flowers, cream and subtle oak. Lively, and zesty, with unctuous fruit, reductive notes, oak and zingy […]
Add to cart Producer: MeadowbankScrewcap. Unusually for a Petit Chablis, which generally comes from the lower-lying sites on Portlandian limestone, the lion’s share of this cuvée is drawn from a parcel of Kimmeridgian-based soil. Yet it’s not necessarily the type of limestone but more the location that makes the difference. The small Defaix parcel is well situated on the […]
Add to cart Producer: Bernard DefaixI don’t normally like fizzes aged for long periods on lees but this, disgorged after five years, seems to have hit a sweet spot. Still very primary and super intense with pastry notes, butter, apple, almond cream, lavender, honey, grapefruit, lemon, lime, white peach and cinnamon. Fantastic intensity with great vibrancy, the acidity so lively […]
