The rosé 2021 Gratallops Vi de Villa Rosat was produced with a majority (70% to 80%) in the Planassos part between Mogador and Manyetes of Garnacha, Macabeo and Cariñena plus the grapes from younger vines (Mogador, Nelin…). It has a bright salmon color and a very different and characterful nose, savory, reminiscent of chicken broth (salty!), herbal and super tasty. It’s quite direct, with 13.5% alcohol and very good freshness, a bit atypical for Priorat, very long, precise, clean and dry. This matured in a 2,000-liter 10-year-old oak foudre for 18 months. They produced some 3,000 bottles. Brilliant! 94 Points, Robert Parker – Wine Advocate
Majority from 55 yo vines in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune just past Saint Aubin located near Nolay and 15% coming from Santenay. Made by direct pressing an aged in large 2-3 yo barrels and is bottled unfined and unfiltered consistent with the winemaking of PYCM. Pale yet vibrant pink/red colour on release fading to […]
Add to cart Producer: Pierre-Yves Colin-MoreyA blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, the exact proportions closely guarded, this delivers exactly what we’ve come to expect from this wine. The consistent elements of Redskin lolly are there, with strawberries, cream, some bittering grapefruit rind balance, a brush of garrigue herbs, all wrapped up in a slightly oily, generous texture. Vintage 2023 […]
Add to cart Producer: JulesBright, onion-skin color. Fresh and incisive on the nose, displaying red berry, citrus fruit and floral qualities and subtle mineral and spice flourishes. Juicy and sharply focused, putting forward lithe strawberry, blood orange and honeysuckle flavors that deepen through the back half. Finishes long and silky, with the red fruit and floral notes lingering. 91 […]
Add to cart Producer: Commanderie de la Bargemone‘This wine has been gone for too long. I’ve missed it. It has a pinkie onion skin vibe in the glass, and the nose is of ripe fruits, and a complex oak derived aroma, but not simply woody, maybe more like almonds or more specifically a marzipan character. On second smell, the nose is of […]
