Classic Eisenstone colour, it’s hard to imagine that it spent 18 months in oak. The first release of the Koonunga Hill Shiraz, which would explain the unique flavour, shape and texture of this wine. Overtones of Eden Valley, with cola, rhubarb, blueberry, cinnamon, blackcurrant, oak spice and liquorice. Very open, juicy, translucent, pure and with art deco curves, the tannins are almost sandy and fine, drawing out the palate with delicacy rather than power. Treading softly for all it’s size. Waters Wine Co
Deep red-purple colour with a graphite, ironstone and char-oak bouquet, traces of dark chocolate, the palate concentrated and driving, powerful and very long with great line and length. Tannins are fleshy and dense, making a significantly impact together with a high extract mouth-feel. Impressive balance: a serious and delicious shiraz. 96 Points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review
