We were talking to a Frenchman who happens to import wine (French mainly) and as the conversation swung to Bordeaux he exclaimed “Bordeaux. Boring!” We happen to not share his view, and it was lovely to taste A Rodda’s Bordeaux blend from Beechworth. An homage maybe, but this is definitely Australian. Soaring nose of plum, cherry, cassis, violets and pencil shavings. Voluminous palate, the fruit perfectly ripe. Melting tannins that are fine, but with a silken grip that could only be Australian. Impeccable wine. Waters Wine Co.
