Bursting with aromas of cherries, plums and cassis mingled with sweet soil tones and petals, Dancer’s 2020 Pommard Les Perrières is medium to full-bodied, lively and charming, with a fleshy core of vibrant fruit and fine, chalky tannins. 89-91 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Driving south on the D974, Les Perrières sits under the famed Clos des Epeneaux and is the first Pommard vineyard on your right after you leave the commune of Beaune. The Dancers farm almost one hectare of vines here, planted in 2012. They work with very low yields to achieve the textural richness and seduction you’ll find here. It’s a darker, inkier wine than the Beaune (as you would expect), but it still offers lovely finesse and purity.

Beautiful pinot noir from Castle Rock, tasted alongside several older vintages, affirming their great aging potential. A difficult hot year 2023, it’s had to believe that such as pure, supple and translucent wine could be forged from such difficulty. Medium bodied, with the black and hedge fruits mashed with licorice, mace, fennel, pink peppercorns and […]

Silky, sappy, supple and mineral, very gentle mouthfeel, but totally immersing the palate in flavour. Beautifully toned wine, the fruit so fresh and pure. But it’s the lightness I love, the gentleness and ballerina […]

As always, the fruit for this wine comes from the plateau at Daix, near Marsannay. The vines sit at 400 metres, which brings freshness and purity. The very low yields contribute remarkable depth and age-worthiness. Even at this level, over 60% bunches were included, and only 5% new oak. This has always been a brilliant […]
